Tabarani related it in Kabir (8/115–116) through two paths, from Khalid bin Yazid bin Subayh, from Salim bin Abdullah Muharibi, from Sulayman bin Habib Muharibi, from Abu Umama, who said, then he narrated it.Ibn Abu Dunya also related it through this same route in Marad wa Kaffarat (23). Munziri mentioned it in Targhib (5164), and after attributing it to Ibn Abu Dunya and to Tabarani in Kabir, he said, "Its narrators are trustworthy." Hafiz Haythami followed him in Majma (2/302) and said the same.In the chain is Salim bin Abdullah Muharibi, about whom Abu Hatim Razi said, "Sound in hadith." Jarh wa Tadil (4/185). Ibn Hibban also mentioned him in Thiqat (6/407–408). Among those who narrated from him, he mentioned only Uzai in the first place, and in the second he said, "The people of his locality narrated from him." Someone like this, his hadith is graded hasan.Note. We have quoted Haythami's words from Majma al-Zawaid as given above, but Munawi, in Fayd Qadir (5/488), quoted from Haythami that he said, "In it is Salim bin Abdullah Muharibi Shami, I did not find anyone who mentioned him, though the rest of its narrators are trustworthy." So consider from where this statement was actually taken.
