I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "Allah said, 'When I test my servant by taking away his two beloved ones and he endures patiently, I will compensate him with Paradise in their place.'" He meant his two eyes.
سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول: إن الله قال: إذا ابتليت عبدي بحبيبتيه فصبر عوضته منهما الجنة. يريد: عينيه.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of the Sick (5653) from Abdullah bin Yusuf, who said, Ibn Hadi narrated to me, from Amr the freedman of Muttalib, from Anas, and he related it. Ashath bin Jabir and Abu Dhilal bin Hilal corroborated him, from Anas, from the Prophet ﷺ.As for what Abu Yaala narrated (4222 - Athari) through another route, from Saeed bin Sulaym Dabbi, who said, Anas bin Malik narrated to us, saying, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said... and in it, "I said, Messenger of Allah, even if it were a single one? He said, 'Even if it were a single one.'"This addition is munkar, for Saeed bin Sulaym is very daif. Azdi said of him, "Matruk." Ibn Hajar mentioned it in Matalib Aliyah and said, "This addition is munkar, Saeed is daif." Haythami mentioned it in Majma (2/310) and said, "Abu Yaala narrated it, and in it is Saeed bin Sulaym Dabbi, whom Azdi declared daif." Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Thiqat and said, "He makes mistakes."
