The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Whom do you consider to be the childless one among you?"They replied, "The one who has no child."He said, "No, rather it is the one who has not sent any child ahead of him."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ما تعدون الرقوب فيكم؟ قالوا: الذي لا ولد له. قال: لا، بل الذي لا فرط له.
Abu Yaala (6006) narrated it from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, "Abu Khalid Ahmar narrated to us, from Hisham, from Ibn Sirin, from Abu Hurairah," and he mentioned it in similar fashion. Its chain is hasan because of Abu Khalid Ahmar, who is Sulayman bin Hayan Azdi, one of the narrators found in all the major collections. Ibn Madini and Ajli both deemed him trustworthy, while Ibn Main and Nasai said, "There is no harm in him." Ibn Hibban listed him in Thiqat. In sum, his hadith is hasan.Haythami said in Majma (11/3), "Abu Yaala narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of the sahih." Busiri said in Ithaf, "Its narrators are trustworthy," and Hafiz remained silent about it in Matalib Aliyah (1/196).
