The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are no two Muslim parents who lose three children before they reach the age of accountability except that Allah will forgive them, by virtue of His mercy toward those children."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: ما من مسلمين يموت بينهما ثلاثة أولاد لم يبلغوا الحنت إلا غفر الله لهما بفضل رحمته إياهم.
Nasai (1874) narrated it from Ismail bin Masud, who said, Bishr bin Mufaddal narrated to us, from Yunus, from Hasan, from Sasaa bin Muawiya, who said, "I met Abu Dharr and said, 'Tell me a hadith.'" He said, "Yes," and then he related the hadith.Hasan, who is Ibn Abu Hasan Yasar, the well-known imam, is a mudallis and here he used the ambiguous form "an" rather than stating direct transmission. However, Ahmad (21413) and Ibn Hibban in his Sahih (4643) narrated it with explicit statement of direct transmission, along with mention of another hadith accompanying it, namely his saying, as a statement attributed to the Prophet, "Whoever spends a pair of something from his wealth, the gatekeepers of Paradise will race to him." We said, "What are these two things?" He said, "If it is men, then two men, if it is horses, then two horses, if it is camels, then two camels," continuing until he enumerated all the categories of wealth.The second part of the hadith was narrated by Hakim (2/86) without the explicit statement of direct transmission, and he said, "The isnad is sahih, and Sasaa bin Muawiya is among the glories of the Arabs."
