A man entered the mosque while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on the pulpit on Friday and asked, "Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour come?"The people gestured to him to be silent. When he asked the third time, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Woe to you! What have you prepared for it?" Then he mentioned the rest of the hadith. The man replied, "I have prepared for it love of Allah and His Messenger."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Sit down, for you will be with those you love."
Bayhaqi (3/221) narrated it from Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Zakariya, who said, Muhammad bin Fadl bin Muhammad bin Ishaq informed us, my grandfather informed us, Ali bin Hajar narrated to us, Ismail bin Jafar narrated to us, Sharik narrated to us, that he heard Anas bin Malik, and he related the same. He did not mention the man's statement, "I repeated it for it." The part attributed to the Prophet ﷺ is his statement.Nasai also narrated it in Sunan al-Kubra (5842) through another route from Sharik bin Abdullah, from Anas, and he did mention the man's statement. The part attributed to the Prophet ﷺ is his statement, except that he did not mention that this occurred during the sermon. Its chain is hasan, because of Sharik bin Abdullah, who is Ibn Abu Nimr. Ibn Main said of him, "There is no harm in him." Ibn Saad said, "He was trustworthy." Ibn Hibban mentioned him in Al-Thiqat. Ibn Mulaqqin said in Badr Munir (4/616), "This hadith is sahih. Nasai narrated it in the book of knowledge in his Sunan, and Bayhaqi with a sahih chain of transmission."
