Abu Dawud (1052), Tirmidhi (500), Nasai (1369), and Ibn Majah (1125) all reported it through the route of Muhammad bin Amr bin Alqama, from Ubayda bin Sufyan Hadrami, from Abu Jaad Damri, who said, then he mentioned the hadith. Its chain of transmission is hasan, for it contains Muhammad bin Amr bin Alqama, whose hadith is hasan, and Tirmidhi graded it hasan. Ibn Khuzayma (1857) and Ibn Hibban (258) graded it sahih, both reporting it through the route of Waki, from Sufyan, from Muhammad bin Amr bin Alqama, in similar wording, and in some of their routes it reads, "Whoever misses it without an excuse is a hypocrite." Hakim (1/280) also graded it sahih, saying, "Sahih according to the criterion of Muslim, though the two of them did not report it." However, this Abu Jaad, whose name is said to be Adraa, and also said to be Amr, and also said to be Junada, was a companion who is said to have been killed on the Day of the Camel. He has only this one hadith, plus another hadith reported by Bazzar in his Musnad. This was stated by Ibn Mulaqqin in Badr Munir (1/584). Muslim did not report from him.
