Muslim narrated it in "The Friday Prayer" (865) from Hasan bin Ali Hulwani, who said, Abu Tuba narrated to us, who said, Muawiya (that is, Muawiya bin Salam) narrated to us, from Zayd (meaning his brother), that he heard Abu Salam say, Hakam bin Mina narrated to me, that Abdullah bin Umar and Abu Hurairah narrated to him, and he related it.Nasai also recorded it (1370) through another route from Zayd bin Salam with the same wording, except that he put Ibn Abbas in place of Abu Hurairah. Ibn Khuzayma narrated it (1855) from Musa bin Sahl Ramli, one of the trustworthy scholars of Syria, from Abu Tuba with the same wording. In it, the wording is, from Abu Hurairah and Abu Saeed, who said, and he related it.Bayhaqi said (3/171–172), after pointing to these routes and others, "The narration of Muawiya bin Salam from his brother Zayd bin Salam is more likely to be the preserved one."A note of caution, in the printed copy of Sahih Ibn Khuzayma, it reads, "Musa bin Sahl, Rabi bin Nafi narrated to us, from Abu Tuba..." This is a printing error, because Rabi bin Nafi is the one whose kunya is "Abu Tuba", and he is the one who narrates from Muawiya bin Salam without any intermediary.
