The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We are the last to come yet the first on the Day of Resurrection, even though they were given the Scripture before us and we were given it after them. This is their day which was prescribed upon them, but they differed concerning it, and Allah guided us to it, so they follow us in this matter. The Jews observe it tomorrow, and the Christians the day after."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: نحن الآخرون السابقون يوم القيامة، بيد أنهم أوتوا الكتاب من قبلنا، وأوتيناه من بعدهم، فهذا يومهم الذي فرض عليهم فاختلفوا فيه فهدانا الله له فهم لنا فيه تبع؛ فاليهود غدا، والنصارى بعد غد.
Bukhari narrated it in "Oaths and Vows" (6624), and Muslim in "Friday" (855/21), both through the route of Abdul-Razzaq, who said, "Mamar informed us, from Hammam bin Munabbih, who said, 'This is what Abu Hurairah narrated to us,'" then he related it, and the wording given is Muslim's. As for Bukhari, he only included the saying, "We are the last, the first on the Day of Resurrection."Bukhari also narrated it (876), and Muslim as well, both through the route of Abu Zinad, that Abdul-Rahman bin Hurmuz Araj, the freed slave of Rabia bin Harith, told him that he heard Abu Hurairah say that he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, then he related the hadith in full as it appears in Muslim, except that Muslim referred back to the preceding chain instead of repeating it in full here.
