He went out on the day of Eid and did not pray before it or after it, and he mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ had done the same.
أنه خرج يوم عيد فلم يصل قبلها ولا بعدها، وذكر أن النبي ﷺ فعله.
Tirmidhi (538) narrated it from Abu Ammar Husayn bin Hurayth, who said, we were told by Waki, from Aban bin Abdullah Bajali, from Abu Bakr bin Hafs, who is the son of Umar bin Saad bin Waqqas, from Ibn Umar, and he related it. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih." Imam Ahmad (5212), Hakim (1/295), and Bayhaqi (3/302) also narrated it through this same route, and Hakim said, "Sahih in isnad."I say, it is hasan because of what has been said about Aban bin Abdullah Bajali. Although he is among the narrators found in the collections of the major hadith compilers, Ibn Hibban spoke critically of him, saying that he was among those whose errors were gross and who transmitted odd reports (munkar) that no one else corroborated.I say, he has not brought here anything that would be considered objectionable, and he is "trustworthy in himself."
