The Prophet ﷺ prayed two rakahs on the day of Eid al-Fitr, performing no prayer before or after them. Then he went to the women, accompanied by Bilal, and instructed them to give in charity. They began throwing down their offerings, each woman casting her earring and her necklace.
أن النبي ﷺ صلى يوم الفطر ركعتين، لم يصل قبلها ولا بعدها، ثم أتى النساء، ومعه بلال، فأمرهن بالصدقة، فجعلن يلقين، تلقي المرأة خرصها وسخابها.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on the two Eids (964), and Muslim narrated it in the chapter on the two Eids (884), both from the hadith of Shubah, from Adi bin Thabit, from Saeed bin Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, and the wording given is Bukhari's. In Muslim's version it reads, "Adha or Fitr."Khurs refers to a small ring made of jewelry. Sikhab, plural sukhub (like kitab and kutub), is a necklace made of compounded perfume shaped like beads, made from musk or cloves or other fragrant substances, containing no gemstones, worn by young boys and girls.
