Rifa reported,
We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until, when we were at al-Kadid, or he said, at Qudayd, some men among us began to ask his permission to visit their families, and he granted them leave.Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up, praised Allah and extolled Him, then said, "What is the matter with men for whom the side of the tree facing the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is more hateful to them than the other side?"At that, we saw none among the people but weeping. A man said, "Anyone who asks your permission after this is truly a fool."Then he praised Allah and said, "Jibreel said, 'I bear witness before Allah that no servant of yours dies bearing witness that there is no god but Allah, and that I am the Messenger of Allah, sincerely from his heart, except that it is his good fortune in the hereafter to enter Paradise.'"He said, "My Lord 
has promised me that seventy thousand of my nation will enter Paradise without reckoning and without punishment, and I truly hope that they will not enter it until you, along with the righteous among your fathers, your spouses, and your offspring, take your dwellings in Paradise."He said, "When half the night has passed, or he said, two-thirds of the night, Allah descends to the lowest heaven and says, 'I ask no one about My servants other than Myself. Who is asking My forgiveness, that I may forgive him? Who is calling upon Me, that I may respond to him? Who is asking of Me, that I may give to him?' until the dawn breaks."

Sahihعن رفاعة الجهني قال
أقبلنا مع رسول الله ﷺ حتى إذا كنا بالكديد- أو قال: بقديد- فجعل رجال منا يستأذنون إلى أهليهم، فيأذن لهم، فقام رسول الله ﷺ فحمد الله وأثنى عليه، ثم قال: ما بال رجال يكون شق الشجرة التي تلي رسول الله ﷺ أبغض إليهم من الشق الآخر. فلم نر عند ذلك من القوم إلا باكيا، فقال رجل: إن الذي يستأذنك بعد هذا لسفيه. فحمد الله وقال جبريل: أشهد عند الله لا يموت عبدك هذا أن لا إله إلا الله، وأني رسول الله، صادقا من قلبه، ثم لسعد الآخرة أن يدخل الجنة. وقال: وقد وعدني ربي عز وجل أن يدخل من أمتي سبعين ألفا لا حساب عليهم ولا عذاب، وإني لأرجو أن لا يدخلوها حتى تبوءوا أنتم ومن صلح من آبائكم وأزواجكم وذرياتكم مساكن في الجنة. وقال: إذا ضى نصف الليل- أو قال: ثلثا الليل- ينزل الله عز وجل إلى السماء الدنيا، فيقول: لا أسأل عن عبادي أحدا غيري، من ذا يستغفرني فأغفر له، من الذي يدعوني فأستجيب له، من ذا الذي يسألني فأعطيه حتى ينفجر الصبح.
to the lowest heaven to the lowest heavenImam Ahmad narrated it (16215) from Ismail bin Ibrahim, who said, Hisham Dastawai told us, from Yahya bin Abu Kathir, from Hilal bin Abu Maymuna, from Ata bin Yasar, from Rifa Juhani, who related it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih and reported it in his book Tawhid (1/289–291), and Ibn Hibban (212) also reported it, through routes from Walid bin Muslim, who said, Uzai told me, who said, Yahya bin Abu Kathir told me, who said, Hilal bin Abu Maymuna told me, who said, Ata bin Yasar told me, who said, Rifa bin Uraba Juhani told me, and he related the hadith in a similar manner.This is how Ibn Khuzayma and Ibn Hibban reported it, using the wording "told me" throughout the chain to its end. This chain is the most sahih version through which this hadith has come, and Sheikh Islam bin Taymiya, Ibn Qayyim, Ibn Hajar, and others graded it sahih.Ibn Majah narrated it (1367, 2090) in abridged form through the route of Muhammad bin Musab, from Uzai, but Muhammad bin Musab is daif, and Busiri likewise graded it daif on this basis. Salih bin Muhammad said of him, "Most of his narrations from Uzai are reversed."This hadith has also been narrated from Uqba bin Amir, from the Prophet ﷺ. Daraqutni said in his book Nuzul (65) that there is something questionable in it. After reporting the hadith through the route of Ali bin Mubarak, from Yahya bin Abu Kathir, who said, Hilal bin Abu Maymuna told me, that Ata bin Yasar told him, that Uqba bin Amir told him, and he related the hadith, Daraqutni then said, "A group has narrated this hadith, among them Hisham Dastawai, Abdul-Rahman Uzai, and Abu Aban Attar, from Yahya bin Abu Kathir, from Hilal bin Abu Maymuna, from Ata bin Yasar, from Rifa bin Uraba Juhani, from the Prophet ﷺ, and this is the preserved version."
