Abdullah bin Umar reported,

He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when raising his head from bowing in the final rakah of the dawn prayer, say after pronouncing, "Allah hears whoever praises Him, our Lord, to You belongs all praise," "O Allah, curse so-and-so, so-and-so, and so-and-so." Then Allah revealed, "Not for you, [O Muhammad, but for Allah], is the decision whether He should [cut them down] or forgive them or punish them, for indeed, they are wrongdoers." [Ali Imran 3:128].
