Dawn never found him with me except asleep, meaning the Prophet ﷺ.
ما ألفاه السحر عندي إلا نائما- تعني النبي ﷺ.
Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on tahajjud (1133), from Musa bin Ismail, who said, Ibrahim bin Saad narrated to us, who said, my father mentioned, from Abu Salama, from Ayesha, and she related something similar. He said it this way, "my father mentioned." Abu Dawud narrated it (1318) from Abu Tuba, from Ibrahim bin Saad, from his father, who related something similar. This removes any suspicion of a break in the chain.Muslim narrated it in the chapter on the prayer of the traveler (742) through Masaar, from Saad, from Abu Salama, from her, that she said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never found me, at the last part of the night, in my house or with me, except asleep."The phrase "the last part of the night" refers to the end of the night, just before dawn. And the word "alfahu," spelled with the letter fa, means "he did not find him."
