Uthman bin Saeed Darimi narrated it in Radd Ali Bishr (1/520), and in Radd Ali Jahmiya (84), from Nufayli, who said, Zuhayr bin Muawiya narrated to us, who said, Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym narrated to us, who said, Abdullah bin Ubaydullah bin Abu Mulayka narrated to me, that Zakwan, the companion of Ayesha, narrated to him, and he related it.Imam Ahmad (2496), Tabarani in Al-Kabir (10/390), and Abu Yaala (2648) all narrated it through various routes from Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym, at greater length. Its chain is hasan because of Abdullah bin Uthman bin Khuthaym, who, although he is among the narrators relied upon by Muslim, is nonetheless "truthful" (saduq).The original story was recorded by Bukhari in the tafsir (4753) through another route from Ibn Abu Mulayka, who said, shortly before her death, Ibn Abbas sought permission to visit Ayesha while she was overcome by illness. She said, "I fear he will praise me." It was said to her, "He is the cousin of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, among the notable Muslims." She said, "Let him in." He said, "How do you find yourself?" She said, "Well, if I am mindful of Allah." He said, "Then you are well, Allah willing, wife of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who married no other virgin besides you, and your innocence was sent down from heaven."Then Ibn Zubayr came in after him, and she said, "Ibn Abbas came in to me and praised me. I wish I had been a thing forgotten, entirely forgotten." End of narration.His statement "after him" means that after Ibn Abbas left her presence, they alternated in coming and going, one leaving as the other arrived.
