I heard Anas say, "A man from the Ansar said, 'I am unable to pray with you,' for he was a heavy man. So he prepared food for the Prophet ﷺ and invited him to his home. He spread out a mat for him and sprinkled water on the edge of the mat, and the Prophet ﷺ prayed two rakahs on it."A man from the family of Jarud asked Anas, "Did the Prophet ﷺ use to pray the Duha prayer?"Anas replied, "I never saw him pray it except on that day."
سمعت أنسا يقول: قال رجل من الأنصار: إني لا أستطيع الصلاة معك- وكان رجلا ضخما- فصنع للنبي ﷺ طعاما، فدعاه إلى منزله، فبسط له حصيرا، ونضح طرف الحصير، فصلى عليه ركعتين فقال رجل من آل الجارود لأنس: أكان النبي ﷺ يصلي الضحى؟ قال: ما رأيته صلاها إلا يومئذ.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Adhan (670) from Adam, who said, "Shubah narrated to us, who said, Anas bin Sirin narrated to us," and he related something similar.Abu Dawud (657) added, after his statement "so he invited him to his house," "Pray so that I may see how you pray, and I will follow your example."In Ibn Majah (756), it reads, "And in the house there was a mat woven from these palm-leaf mats, so he ordered a section of it to be swept and sprinkled with water, then he prayed and we prayed with him."Ibn Majah said, the "fahl" is the mat that has turned black.It is said that the man from the Ansar was Itban bin Malik, and the man from the family of Jarud was Abdul-Hameed bin Mundhir bin Jarud Basri.
