He saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying in a single garment in the house of Umm Salama, wrapping himself in it with both ends placed over his shoulders.
أنه رأى رسول الله ﷺ يصلي في ثوب واحد، مشتملا به في بيت أم سلمة، واضعا طرفيه على عاتقه.
Malik narrated it in Salat al-Jamaah (29), from Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, from Umar bin Abu Salama, and he mentioned it.Bukhari also narrated it in al-Salah (355, 356, 354), and Muslim in al-Salah (517), through a route other than Malik's, from Hisham bin Urwa, in the same manner. In one version with Muslim it says, "wrapped himself," and did not say "draped over one shoulder." In another version it says, "wrapped himself in his garment, crossing its two ends over each other."Both "wrapped" and "draped" mean crossing the two ends of the garment over one's shoulders, which is wrapping it over both shoulders.
