Umm Hani bint Abu Talib reported, "I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the Conquest and found him bathing, while his daughter Fatimah was screening him with a garment. I greeted him, and he asked, 'Who is this?'I replied, 'Umm Hani bint Abu Talib.'He said, 'Welcome, Umm Hani.'When he finished his bath, he stood and prayed eight units of prayer, wrapped in a single garment, then he left."
ذهبت إلى رسول الله ﷺ عام الفتح فوجدته يغتسل، وفاطمة ابنته تستره بثوب، قالت: فسلمت عليه، فقال: من هذه؟ فقلت: أم هانئ بنت أبي طالب، فقال: مرحبا بأم هانئ فلما فرغ من غسله قام فصلى ثماني ركعات ملتحفا في ثوب واحد، ثم انصرف.
Malik narrated it in the Book of Shortening the Prayer (28), from Abu Nadr, the freedman of Umar bin Ubaydullah, that Abu Mura, the freedman of Aqeel bin Abu Talib, informed him that he heard Umm Hani bint Abu Talib say, then he mentioned the hadith.Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Prayer (357), and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Menstruation (336) in abbreviated form, both of them through Malik. The hadith has already appeared in the Book of Purification, in the chapter on covering oneself during ghusl, and it will come again in the chapter on the Duha prayer.
