We descended with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from the pass of Adhakhir, and the time for prayer arrived. He prayed facing a wall, taking it as his qiblah, while we stood behind him. A young lamb came and tried to pass in front of him, but he kept fending it off until his belly was pressed against the wall, and it passed behind him. Or as Musaddad said.
Abu Dawud reported it (708), Musaddad narrated to us, Isa bin Yunus narrated to us, Hisham bin Ghaz narrated to us, from Amr bin Shuayb, from his father, from his grandfather, and he mentioned it.Bayhaqi reported the hadith (2/268) through the route of Musaddad, similarly, except that he did not mention "or as Musaddad said," from which it is understood to be Abu Dawud's statement, said as a precaution. Its chain is hasan on account of Amr bin Shuayb, for he is truthful.
