I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Whoever among you women believes in Allah and the Last Day must not raise her head until the men have raised their heads."
سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: من كان منكن يؤمن بالله واليوم الآخر فلا ترفع رأسها حتى يرفع الرجال رؤوسهم.
Abu Dawud (851) narrated it, "Muhammad bin Mutawakkil Asqalani told us, Abdul-Razzaq told us, Mamar informed us, from Abdullah bin Muslim the brother of Zuhri, from a client of Asma bint Abu Bakr, from her," and he mentioned the hadith. This is how Abu Dawud put it, "a client of Asma," and Bayhaqi (2/241) also narrated it by this same route.However, in the Musannaf of Abdul-Razzaq (5109), and by this route Imam Ahmad in his Musnad (26947), it says "a female client" of Asma. Then Imam Ahmad (26949) narrated from Abdul-Ala, from Mamar, by the same chain, and there it says "a client" of Asma. He likewise said the same in his narration (26950) from Affan, from Wahib, from Numan bin Rashid, from the brother of Zuhri.Tabarani identified this client as being Abdullah bin Kaysan, and he placed these hadiths in the Musnad of Abdullah, the client of Asma, from Asma. See Mujam al-Kabir (24/97–98).If it is confirmed that this unnamed person is indeed Abdullah bin Kaysan, then the chain would be sahih, because Abdullah bin Kaysan is among the senior Successors, and the community of scholars narrated from him.
