Nasai narrated it (804, 841). He said, Muhammad bin Ismail bin Ibrahim informed us, he said, Hajjaj narrated to us, he said, Ibn Jurayj said, Ziyad informed me, that Qazaa, a client of Abd Qays, informed him, that he heard Ikrima, the client of Ibn Abbas, say, Ibn Abbas said, and he mentioned the hadith.Its chain is hasan because of Qazaa the Makkan, the client of Abd Qays, for Abu Zura and Ibn Hibban graded him trustworthy, so he is "truthful," while Hafiz placed him at the level of "acceptable." The truth is that he is truthful, and the rest of the men are trustworthy. Hajjaj is Ibn Muhammad Masissi.Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih (1537), and so did Ibn Hibban (2204). Imam Ahmad also narrated it (2751), all of them through the route of Hajjaj bin Muhammad, with the same wording. Ibn Jurayj is a mudallis, but he explicitly stated that he received the report directly.
