The Prophet ﷺ said, "We, the company of prophets, have been commanded to hasten the breaking of the fast, to delay the predawn meal, and to place our right hands over our left hands."
عن النبي الله ﷺ قال: إنا معاشر الأنبياء أمرنا أن تعجل الإفطار، ونؤخر السحور، وأن نضرب بأيماننا على شمائلنا.

Tabarani related it in Al-Kabir (10851) from Abbas bin Muhammad Mujashii Asbahani, who said, Muhammad bin Abu Yaqub Kirmani told us, Sufyan bin Uyayna told us, from Amr bin Dinar, from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas, and he related the hadith. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Abbas bin Muhammad Mujashii Asbahani is trustworthy, as Abu Naeem Asbahani said in Akhbar Asbahan (2/142). Ibn Qattan's statement, "He is not known," reflects only the limits of his own knowledge and awareness. Otherwise, he is trustworthy, and Abu Naeem, who deemed him trustworthy, knew him better, since he was from his own city.Ibn Hibban also related it in his Sahih (1770), and Tabarani (11485), both by another route, from Harmala bin Yahya, who said, Ibn Wahb told us, Amr bin Harith informed me and said, I heard Ata bin Abu Rabah say, I heard Ibn Abbas, and he related the hadith. On this subject there is also what was narrated from Simak bin Harb, from Qabisa bin Hulb, from his father, who said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to lead us in prayer, and he would take hold of his left hand with his right." Tirmidhi related it (252), as did Ibn Majah (809), and Abdullah bin Ahmad in his father's Musnad (21968). But Qabisa is unknown, Ibn Madini, Nasai, and others declared him unknown, and no one narrated from him except Simak. As for what Daraqutni related (1/284), and Abu Dawud Tayalisi (p. 346), and from him Bayhaqi (4/238), by the route of Talha bin Amr, from Ata, from Ibn Abbas, relating something similar, this chain contains Talha bin Amr, of whom Ahmad said, "His hadith is to be abandoned," and Ibn Main said, "Daif, worthless." This daif route does not undermine what has been firmly established through the sahih routes. As for what was narrated from Ali ﷺ, "It is part of the sunnah in prayer to place the palms over the palms below the navel," this is daif by unanimous agreement. Abu Dawud related it (756) through the hadith of Abdul-Rahman bin Ishaq Kufi, from Ziyad bin Zayd, from Abu Juhayfa, from Ali, who related it. Abdul-Rahman bin Ishaq Abu Shayba Wasiti is someone of whom Imam Ahmad said, "He is worthless, his hadith is denounced." Bukhari said, "There is something questionable about him." Ibn Main said, "Daif," and on another occasion said, "To be abandoned." Also in this chain is Ziyad bin Zayd, who is Suwai, called Aasam, with two dotless letters, the Kufan, of whom Abu Hatim said, "He is unknown." Al-Jarh wal-Tadil (3/532).
