The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The imam is a guarantor, and the muezzin is entrusted."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: الإمام ضامن، والمؤذن مؤتمن.
Imam Ahmad narrated it (22238), and Tabarani in al-Kabir (8/343), both through the route of Husayn bin Waqid, who said, "Abu Ghalib narrated to me, from Abu Umama," who said, then he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Abu Ghalib al-Basri, whom Abu Hatim, Nasai, Ibn Hibban, and Ibn Saad graded daif, while Ibn Main said, "He is sound in hadith," and Ibn Adi said, "There is no harm in him."Someone like him, his hadith is graded hasan when his hadith has an established basis and he does not bring anything objectionable in it, and this is one such case.On this subject there are also narrations from Sahl bin Saad, Salama bint Hurr the sister of Kharasha, Ibn Umar, Wathila, and Abu Mahzura, but all of them are flawed, and none of them is free from defect except what I have mentioned.
