The polytheists kept the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from praying the afternoon prayer until the sun had turned red, or yellow. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "They have kept us from the middle prayer, the afternoon prayer. May Allah fill their bellies and their graves with fire," or he said, "May Allah stuff their bellies and their graves with fire."
