We used to pray Asr with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, after which a camel would be slaughtered, divided into ten portions, and then cooked. We would eat the meat fully cooked before sunset.
كنا نصلي العصر مع رسول الله ﷺ، ثم تنحر الجزور، فتقسم عشر قسم، ثم تطبخ فنأكل لحما نضيجا قبل مغيب الشمس.
Bukhari related it in the Book of Partnership (2485), and Muslim in the Book of Mosques (625), and this wording is his, both of them via Uzai, who said, Abu Najashi told us, saying, I heard Rafi bin Khadij, and he mentioned it.In another version, "We used to slaughter camels in the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after Asr." He did not say, "We used to pray with him."
