Abu Umama bin Sahl reported, "We prayed the Zuhr prayer with Umar bin Abd al-Aziz, then we went out and entered upon Anas bin Malik, and we found him praying Asr."I asked, "Uncle, what is this prayer you have just prayed?"He replied, "Asr. This is the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that we used to pray with him."
أن أبا أمامة بن سهل يقول: صلينا مع عمر بن عبد العزيز الظهر، ثم خرجنا حتى دخلنا على أنس بن مالك فوجدناه يصلي العصر، فقلت يا عم ما هذه الصلاة التي صليت؟ قال: العصر. وهذه صلاة رسول الله ﷺ التي كنا نصلي معه.
Bukhari related it in "the Book of Prayer Times" (549), and Muslim in "the Book of Mosques" (623), both through the route of Abdullah bin Mubarak, from Abu Bakr bin Uthman bin Sahl bin Hunayf, who said, I heard Abu Umama say, and then he mentioned the hadith.
