The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah will gather all people on the Day of Resurrection upon a single plain. Then the Lord of the Worlds will appear to them and say, 'Let every person follow what they used to worship.' So the cross will be made to appear before its worshipper, the images before those who worshipped them, and the fire before those who worshipped it, and they will follow whatever they used to worship. The Muslims will remain, and the Lord of the Worlds will appear to them and say, 'Will you not follow the others?' They will reply, 'We seek refuge in Allah from You, we seek refuge in Allah from You. Allah is our Lord, and this is our place until we see our Lord.' He will be commanding them and keeping them firm. Then He will withdraw, then appear again and say, 'Will you not follow the others?' They will reply, 'We seek refuge in Allah from You, we seek refuge in Allah from You. Allah is our Lord, and this is our place until we see our Lord.' He will be commanding them and keeping them firm."They asked, "Will we see Him, Messenger of Allah?"He replied, "Do you have any difficulty seeing the moon on the night it is full?"They said, "No, Messenger of Allah."He said, "Then you will have no difficulty seeing Him at that moment. Then He will withdraw, then appear again and make Himself known to them, then say, 'I am your Lord, so follow Me.' The Muslims will rise, and the Bridge will be set in place. They will pass over it like swift horses and riding beasts, and their words upon it will be, 'Save us, save us.'The people of the Fire will remain, and a group of them will be cast into it. It will be asked, 'Are you full?' It will reply, 'Is there any more?' Then another group will be cast into it, and it will be asked, 'Are you full?' It will reply, 'Is there any more?' until, when they have all been packed into it, the Most Merciful will place His foot in it, and parts of it will fold into others. Then He will say, 'Enough!' It will say, 'Enough, enough.'When Allah has admitted the people of Paradise into Paradise and the people of the Fire into the Fire, Death will be brought forward as though tied up and made to stand upon the wall between the people of Paradise and the people of the Fire. Then it will be announced, 'People of Paradise!' and they will look out fearfully. Then it will be announced, 'People of the Fire!' and they will look out joyfully, hoping for intercession. The people of Paradise and the people of the Fire will be asked, 'Do you recognize this?' Both groups will reply, 'We recognize him. This is Death, who was charged with us.' Then he will be laid down and slaughtered upon the wall between Paradise and the Fire. Then it will be announced, 'People of Paradise, eternity with no death! People of the Fire, eternity with no death!'"
Tirmidhi (2557) and Ibn Khuzayma in Tawhid (150) both narrated it through Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad Darawardi, from Ala bin Abdul-Rahman, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad Darawardi, who is disputed, but his hadith is hasan when it does not contradict the trustworthy narrators. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih."
