Imam Ahmad narrated it (17710), saying, Hasan (that is, Ibn Musa) narrated to us, saying, Ibn Lahia narrated to us, Haywa bin Shurayh narrated to us, from Uqba bin Muslim, who said, I heard Abdullah bin Harith bin Juz Zubaydi, and he mentioned the hadith. Its chain is daif because of Ibn Lahia, but it has been corroborated, for Ibn Khuzayma (163), Daraqutni (1/95), Hakim (1/162), and Bayhaqi (1/70) all narrated it through the route of Layth bin Saad, from Haywa bin Shurayh, in the same way. Hakim said, this is a sahih hadith, though the two of them (Bukhari and Muslim) did not include the mention of the soles of the feet.Hafiz Haythami perhaps did not come across this marfu narration, but only came across the mawquf narration that Ahmad reported (17706) from Harun, saying, Abdullah bin Wahb narrated to us, saying, Haywa narrated to me, from Uqba bin Muslim Tujibi, who said, I heard Abdullah bin Harith bin Juz Zubaydi, one of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ, saying, "Woe to the heels and the soles of the feet from the Fire on the Day of Resurrection."He said in Majma al-Zawaid (1/240), Ahmad narrated it in this way, and Tabarani said in Al-Kabir, on the authority of Abdullah bin Harith bin Juz Zubaydi, who said, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Woe to the heels and the soles of the feet from the Fire." And he said, the men of Ahmad and Tabarani are trustworthy.I say, this is indeed so, except that it was also narrated marfu through the route of Ibn Lahia, as has already passed. Its full referencing is found in Minna Kubra (1/155). Ibn Abu Asim said in Al-Ahad wal-Mathani (2484), we do not know of the soles of the feet being mentioned except in this hadith alone, and this necessitates washing the two feet, and we do not know of any of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who heard this from him other than him.
