He said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Muslims will use the bows, arrows, and shields of Gog and Magog as firewood for seven years."
يقول قال رسول الله ﷺ: سيوقد المسلمون من قسي يأجوج ومأجوج، ونشابهم، وأترستهم، سبع سنين.
Ibn Majah (4076) narrated it from Hisham bin Ammar, who said, Yahya bin Hamza narrated to us, who said, Ibn Jabir (that is, Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir) narrated to us, from Yahya bin Jabir Tai, who said, Abdul-Rahman bin Jubayr bin Nufayr narrated to me, from his father, that he heard Nawas bin Saman narrate it, and so he related it.There is some minor criticism regarding Hisham bin Ammar, but he is corroborated, for Tirmidhi (2240) narrated it from Ali bin Hajar, who said, Walid bin Muslim and Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir informed us (the narration of one of them merged into that of the other), from Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir, at length, and it includes the words, "The Muslims will kindle fires from their bows, arrows, and quivers for seven years."Muslim also narrated it in the chapter on tribulations (2137:111) from Ali bin Hajar Saadi with this same chain, except that he did not present the full wording, but instead referred to the wording of the hadith of Muhammad bin Mihran Razi, from Walid bin Muslim, with the same content.Tirmidhi said, "This is a hasan sahih gharib hadith, which we know only through the hadith of Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid bin Jabir."
