The Prophet of Allah ﷺ met Ibn Sayyad while Abu Bakr and Umar were with him. Ibn Sayyad was among some boys at the time.The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?"Ibn Sayyad replied, "Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?"The Prophet of Allah said, "I believe in Allah and His Messenger."Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "What do you see?"He answered, "I see a throne upon the water."The Prophet ﷺ said, "You see the throne of Iblis upon the sea." Then he said, "Look, what do you see?"He replied, "I see truthful ones and liars."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "He has been confused about his own affair," and he left him alone.
لقي نبي الله ﷺ ابن صائد ومعه أبو بكر وعمر قال: وابن صائد مع الغلمان، فقال له رسول الله ﷺ: أتشهد أني رسول الله؟ قال: أتشهد أني رسول الله؟ فقال نبي الله: آمنت بالله وبرسوله قال: فقال رسول الله ﷺ: ما ترى؟ قال: أرى عرشا على الماء، فقال ﷺ: ترى عرش إبليس على البحر قال: انظر ما ترى؟ قال: أرى صادقين و كاذبين، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: لبس على نفسه فدعاه.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Tribulations and Signs of the Hour (2926), and Ibn Hibban (6784), both through Muhammad bin Abdul-Ala, who said, Mutamir bin Sulayman narrated to us, he said, I heard my father, he said, Abu Nadra narrated to us, from Jabir bin Abdullah, who mentioned it.The wording given is that of Ibn Hibban. Muslim did not present its wording, but instead referred back to the hadith of Abu Saeed preceding it (2925).His saying, "leave him," means let the two of them leave him.
