Hafsah informed me that she heard the Prophet ﷺ say, "An army will set out to attack this House. When they reach an open part of the land, the earth will swallow up those in the middle of them. The first of them will call out to the last of them, then they too will be swallowed up. None will remain except a single fugitive who will report what happened to them."A man said, "I bear witness that you have not lied about Hafsah, and I bear witness that Hafsah did not lie about the Prophet ﷺ."
أخبرتني حفصة: أنها سمعت النبي ﷺ يقول: ليؤمن هذا البيت جيش يغزونه، حتى إذا كانوا داء من الأرض يخسف بأوسطهم، وينادي أولهم آخرهم، ثم يخسف بهم فلا يبقى إلا الشريد الذي يخبر عنهم. فقال رجل: أشهد عليك أنك لم تكذب على حفصة، وأشهد على حفصة أنها لم تكذب على النبي ﷺ.
Muslim narrated it in "The Book of Tribulations and the Signs of the Hour" (2883:6), through the route of Sufyan bin Uyayna, from Umaya bin Safwan, who heard his grandfather Abdullah bin Safwan say what has already been mentioned.
