The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The Hour will not arrive until the Furat uncovers a mountain of gold, over which people will fight. Out of every hundred, ninety-nine will be killed, and every man among them will say, 'Perhaps I will be the one who survives.'"
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: لا تقوم الساعة حتى يحسر الفرات عن جبل من ذهب، يقتتل الناس عليه، فيقتل من كل مائة تسعة وتسعون، ويقول كل رجل منهم: لعلي أكون أنا الذي أنجو.
Muslim narrated it in "Fitan and the Signs of the Hour" (2894), from Qutayba bin Saeed, who said, Yaqub bin Abdul-Rahman Qari told us, from Suhayl, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, as mentioned.It also occurs in Ibn Majah (4046) and Ibn Hibban (6692), both by way of Muhammad bin Amr, from Abu Salama, from Abu Hurairah, in similar wording, except that it contains, "so nine out of every ten will be killed," and this is a shadh (irregular) narration, as Ibn Hajar said in Fath al-Bari (13/81).
