The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will be in this nation in the latter days some men," or he said, "Some men will emerge from this nation in the latter days, carrying whips like the tails of cattle. They go forth in the morning under the wrath of Allah and return in the evening under His anger."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: يكون في هذه الأمة في آخر الزمان رجال- أو قال: يخرج رجال من هذه الأمة في آخر الزمان- معهم أسياط كأنها أذناب البقر، يغدون في سخط الله، ويروحون في غضبه.
Ahmad (22150), Tabarani (8/308), and Hakim (4/436) all narrated it through routes from Abdullah bin Bujayr, from Sayyar Shami, from Abu Umama, who related it.Its chain is hasan because of Sayyar Shami. Ibn Hibban and Ibn Khalfun mentioned him among the trustworthy narrators, his hadith has a firmly established basis, and there is no objectionable element found in it. Tirmidhi graded it hasan, and Hakim said, "The chain is sahih."
