The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There will emerge a people, young in age, foolish in mind, harsh, fierce, with sharp tongues reciting the Quran, yet it will not pass beyond their throats. Whenever you encounter them, strike them down. Then whenever you encounter them, kill them, for whoever kills them will be rewarded."
Ahmad (20382, 20446), Bazzar (3676), and Hakim (2/146) all narrated it through various routes from Uthman Shahham, from Muslim bin Abu Bakra, from his father, and so he related it.Bazzar said, "We do not know of anyone who narrates this from Abu Bakra except by this route. This statement, and similar wording, has been narrated from the Prophet ﷺ through several paths with different wordings, but the hadith of Abu Bakra contains something not found in others."Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Uthman Shahham and Muslim bin Abu Bakra, as both of them are hasan narrators.Hakim said, "It is sahih according to the criterion of Muslim."
