Ali said, "When I narrate to you something from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I would rather fall from the sky than attribute to him what he did not say. But when I speak to you about matters between you and me, then know that war is deception."He continued, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'There will emerge at the end of time a people, young in age and foolish in mind. They will speak the finest words of mankind. They will recite the Quran, but it will not pass beyond their throats. They will pass through the religion as an arrow passes through its target. So when you encounter them, kill them, for there is a reward with Allah on the Day of Resurrection for whoever kills them.'"
إذا حدثتكم عن رسول الله ﷺ فلأن أخر من السماء أحب إلي من أن أقول عليه ما لم يقل، وإذا حدثتكم فيما بيني وبينكم فإن الحرب خدعة، سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: سيخرج في آخر الزمان قوم أحداث الأسنان، سفهاء الأحلام، يقولون من خير قول البرية، يقرؤون القرآن لا يجاوز حناجرهم، يمرقون من الدين كما يمرق السهم من الرمية، فإذا لقيتموه فاقتلوهم، فإن في قتلهم أجرا لمن قتلهم عند الله يوم القيامة.
Bukhari narrated it in the book of calling apostates back to Islam (6930), and Muslim in the book of zakat (1066: 154), both through the route of Amash, from Khaythama, from Suwayd bin Ghafla, who said, Ali said, and he related it.
