The Prophet ﷺ said, "If on that day you find no caliph, then flee until you die, even if you die clinging to a tree stump."At the end of the report, the narrator said, I asked, "What will happen after that?"He replied, "If a man were to breed a mare, it would not foal before the Hour arrives."
It was narrated by (4247), and Ahmad (23425), both from the hadith of Abu Tayah, who said, I heard Sakhr narrating from Sabi bin Khalid, and he related this hadith. Its isnad is hasan because of Sabi bin Khalid. As for Sakhr, he is Ibn Badr Ajli, who is unknown, but he has corroboration as mentioned previously. His words, "If a man were to breed..." indicate how close the Hour is after the appearance of the major signs of the Hour that precede it, as can be understood from Huzaifa's own hadiths. There is an omission and abridgment in it.Benefit, from gathering the hadiths of Huzaifa bin Yaman in one place, we learn that he sometimes narrated at length and sometimes briefly, or that his companions abridged as needed. All of them are sahih except for a few words in which error occurred from some narrators.Among what has been narrated from Huzaifa bin Yaman, he said, the Messenger of Allah said, "The Hour will not come until the happiest person with worldly life is Lukaa bin Lukaa." This was narrated by Tirmidhi (2209), and Ahmad (23303), both through the route of Amr bin Abu Amr, from Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman Ansari Ashhali, from Huzaifa, and he related it.Tirmidhi said, "A hasan hadith, we only know it through the hadith of Amr bin Abu Amr." I say, Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman Ashhali was narrated from only by Amr bin Abu Amr, and no one has verified him as reliable except that Ibn Hibban mentioned him among his trustworthy narrators, following his own principle of authenticating anyone in whom no defect is known. Ibn Main said, "I do not know him." However, the substance of the matter is established through the hadiths of other companions, as is mentioned in its proper place. His words "Lukaa bin Lukaa" follow the pattern of the name Zafar, and what is meant by it is someone whose origin is unknown and whose character is not praiseworthy. As for what was narrated from Huzaifa bin Yaman, that the Messenger of Allah said, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, the Hour will not come until you kill your imam, strike each other with your swords, and the worst of you inherit your worldly wealth," its isnad is daif. It was narrated by Tirmidhi (2170), Ibn Majah (4043), and Ahmad (23302), all through routes from Amr bin Abu Amr, freed slave of Muttalib, from Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman Ansari Ashhali, from Huzaifa bin Yaman, and he related it.Tirmidhi said, "A hasan hadith, we only know it through the hadith of Amr bin Abu Amr." I say, Abdullah bin Abdul-Rahman Ansari is unknown. He was narrated from only by Amr bin Abu Amr, and no one has verified him as reliable except that Ibn Hibban mentioned him among his trustworthy narrators, following his own principle of authenticating anyone in whom no defect is known. Ibn Main said, I do not know him. And Dhahabi said in al-Mizan, "He has a munkar hadith," meaning this one.Likewise, what was narrated from Huzaifa bin Yaman is not sound, that he said, By Allah, I do not know whether my companions have forgotten or are pretending to forget. By Allah, the Messenger of Allah did not leave out any leader of sedition, up until the end of this world, whose followers number three hundred or more, without naming him to us by his name, his father's name, and his tribe's name. This was narrated by Abu Dawud (4243), from Muhammad bin Yahya bin Faris, who said, Ibn Abu Maryam narrated to us, who said, Ibn Faruq informed us, who said, Usama bin Zayd informed me, who said, a son of Qabisa bin Zuayb informed me, from his father, who said, Huzaifa bin Yaman said, and he related it.Ibn Faruq is Abdullah Khurasani, about whom there is disagreement, though his hadith is considered hasan when it has a basis elsewhere, and it is not accepted when he is the sole narrator or contradicts others, and he was the sole narrator of this report. As for the son of Qabisa bin Zuayb, if he is Ishaq then he is truthful, otherwise he is unknown and unrecognized. His words "a leader of sedition" are munkar, for the correct account is that of the names of the hypocrites, as is found in Sahih Muslim.
