Abu Hurairah reported,

The Prophet ﷺ used to say, "Woe to the Arabs from an evil that has drawn near. Trials like patches of dark night, in which a man wakes up a believer and goes to sleep an unbeliever, and goes to sleep a believer and wakes up an unbeliever, selling his religion for a small worldly gain. The one among them holding fast to his religion on that day will be like one grasping thorny branches or burning embers of ghada wood."
