He mentioned a hadith like this hadith of Abu Hurairah, except that Abu Bakr added in it, "Among the prayers is a prayer, whoever misses it, it is as if he has been bereft of his family and wealth."
أنه ذكر الحديث مثل حديث أبي هريرة هذا إلا أن أبا بكر زاد فيه: من الصلاة صلاة، من فاتته فكأنما وتر أهله وماله.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Virtues (3602), and Muslim in the Book of Tribulations (2886), both from Salih bin Kaysan, from Ibn Shihab, who said, Abu Bakr bin Abdul-Rahman bin Harith narrated to me, from Abdul-Rahman bin Mutee bin Aswad, from Nawfal bin Muawiya. They did not present the full wording of the hadith, but only mentioned what Abu Bakr added regarding the mention of prayer.Nawfal bin Muawiya was among those who embraced Islam at the conquest of Makkah, and he has no other hadith in Bukhari besides this one. He died in Madinah at the age of one hundred and twenty, having lived sixty years during the Age of Ignorance and sixty years in Islam.This hadith was mentioned earlier in the Book of Prayer, in the chapter on the sin of one who misses the Asr prayer.
