The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from a journey, and I had hung over my door a curtain decorated with winged horses. He instructed me, so I took it down.
قدم رسول الله ﷺ من سفر، وقد سترت على بابي درنوكا فيه الخيل ذوات الأجنحة، فأمرني فنزعته.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Clothing (2107), and this is his wording, and Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Clothing (5955), both from the hadith of Hisham bin Urwa, from his father, from Ayesha, as mentioned. Bukhari's wording is, "It has images on it."The word "darnuk" refers to a thick cloth with a nap. If spread out it serves as a rug, and if hung up it serves as a curtain.
