The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in upon me while I was screened behind a curtain that had figures on it. His face changed color, then he took hold of the curtain and tore it down. He said, "Among the people most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection are those who imitate the creation of Allah."
دخل علي رسول الله ﷺ وأنا متسترة بقرام فيه صورة، فتلون وجهه، ثم تناول الستر فهتكه، ثم قال: إن من أشد الناس عذابا يوم القيامة، الذين يشبهون بخلق الله.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Manners (6109), and Muslim in the Book of Clothing (2107: 91), both from the hadith of Ibrahim bin Saad, from Zuhri, from Qasim bin Muhammad, from Ayesha, mentioning it as stated. The wording given is Muslim's, while Bukhari's wording is, "Those who make these images."
