The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from a journey, and I had covered a small alcove of mine with a curtain that bore figured images. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw it, he tore it down and said, "The people most severely punished on the Day of Resurrection are those who imitate the creation of Allah."She said, "So we made it into a cushion or two cushions."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Clothing (5954), and Muslim in the Book of Clothing (2107: 92), both from the hadith of Sufyan bin Uyayna, who said, I heard Abdul-Rahman bin Qasim, and there was no one in Madinah at that time better than him, say, I heard my father say, I heard Ayesha, and he related it. His saying "yudahi'un" means "they resemble."
