When the verse "and let them draw their veils over their bosoms" [Nur 24:31] was revealed, the women took their waist-wrappers and tore them along the edges at the front, then covered their heads with them.
لما نزلت هذه الآية: {وليضربن بخمرهن على جيوبهن} [سورة النور: ٣١] أخذن أزرهن فشققنها من قبل جيوبهن الحوافي، فاختمرن بها.
