Narrated by Tirmidhi (1738), Nasai (5187), Ahmad (19980), and Ibn Hibban (5406), all of them from the hadith of Abu Tayah, who said, Hafs Laythi told me, saying, I bear witness against Imran bin Husayn that he said, then he related the hadith. Its chain is hasan because of Hafs, who is Ibn Abdullah Laythi Basri, from whom no one narrated except Abu Tayah (Yazid bin Humayd Dubi), and no one deemed him reliable except Ibn Hibban, so he is counted among the unknown narrators until we find a corroborator for him.For this reason, the Hafiz said in Taqrib, "acceptable," meaning if corroborated, and indeed he is corroborated, for Abu Nadra corroborated him, narrating from Abu Saeed or from Imran bin Husayn that he said, I bear witness against the Messenger of Allah that he forbade wearing silk, and drinking from green vessels. Narrated by Ahmad (19849). This is a part of the hadith, and the complete hadith was narrated by Ahmad (19838) from Muhammad bin Jafar, who said, Shubah told us, from Abu Tayah, who said, I heard a man from Banu Layth say, I bear witness against Imran bin Husayn, Shubah said, or he said, Imran said, I bear witness against the Messenger of Allah that he forbade green vessels, or he said, clay vessels, and gold rings, and silk.The man from Banu Layth is Hafs bin Abdullah Laythi, as mentioned before.
