Ayesha reported,

Some jewelry was brought to the Prophet ﷺ from the Negus, who had sent it to him as a gift. Among it was a gold ring set with an Abyssinian stone. She said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ picked it up with a stick, turning his face away from it, or with one of his fingers. Then he called Umama, the daughter of Ubayy al-As, his granddaughter through Zaynab, and said, "Adorn yourself with this, my dear daughter."
