Thawban reported,

The daughter of Hubayra came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ wearing gold rings on her hand, called al-Fath. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ began tapping her hand with a small stick he was carrying, saying to her, "Would it please you for Allah to place rings of fire on your hand?"She went to Fatimah and complained to her about what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had done to her.The narrator said, I went with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he stood behind the door. Whenever he sought permission to enter, he would stand behind the door.Fatimah said to her, "Look at this chain that Abu Hasan gifted to me." She had a gold chain on her hand.The Prophet ﷺ then entered and said, "Fatimah, is it just that people should say, 'Fatimah daughter of Muhammad,' while you have a chain of fire on your hand?"Then he rebuked her severely and went out without sitting down. She ordered the chain to be sold, and with its price she bought a slave and freed him. When the Prophet ﷺ heard of this, he said, "Allahu Akbar. Praise be to Allah, who has saved Fatimah from the Fire."

عن ثوبان مولى رسول الله ﷺ حدثه

أن ابنة هبيرة دخلت على رسول الله ﷺ وفي يدها خواتيم من ذهب، يقال لها: الفتح، فجعل رسول الله ﷺ يقرع يدها بعصية معه، يقول لها: يسرك أن يجعل الله في يدك خواتيم من نار؟ فأتت فاطمة فشكت إليها ما صنع بها رسول الله ﷺ، قال: وانطلقت أنا مع رسول الله ﷺ، فقام خلف الباب، وكان إذا استأذن قام خلف الباب، قال: فقالت لها فاطمة: انظري إلى هذه السلسلة التي أهداها إلي أبو حسن قال: وفي يدها سلسلة من يدها سلسلة من ذهب، فدخل النبي ﷺ فقال: يا فاطمة بالعدل أن يقول الناس: فاطمة بنت محمد وفي يدك سلسلة من نار؟ ثم عدمها عذما شديدا، ثم خرج ولم يقعد، فأمرت بالسلسلة فبيعت فاشترت بثمنها عبدا، فأعتقته، فلما سمع بذلك النبي ﷺ كبر، وقال: الحمد لله الذي نجى فاطمة من النار.
