The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever wishes to encircle his loved one with a ring of fire, let him place upon him a ring of gold. Whoever wishes to encircle his loved one with a collar of fire, let him place upon him a collar of gold. Whoever wishes to encircle his loved one with a bracelet of fire, let him place upon him a bracelet of gold. But stick to silver, and adorn yourselves with it as you please."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: من أحب أن يحلق من نار، فليحلقه حلقة من ذهب، ومن أحب أن يطوق حبيبه طوقا من نار، فليطوقه طوقا من ذهب، ومن أحب أن يسور حبيبه سوارا من نار، فليسوره سوارا من ذهب، ولكن عليكم بالفضة، فالعبوا بها.
Abu Dawud (4236) and Ahmad (8910) both narrated it through the hadith of Abdul-Aziz, from Usayd bin Abu Usayd Al-Barrad, from Nafi bin Ayyash, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it. Its isnad is hasan because of Abdul-Aziz bin Muhammad and his teacher Usayd bin Abu Usayd, for the two of them make the hadith hasan.Abdul-Rahman bin Abdullah bin Dinar contradicted him, narrating it from Usayd bin Abu Usayd, from Ibn Abu Musa, from his father, or from Ibn Abu Qatada, from his father, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, and he mentioned something similar.This Abdul-Rahman has some weakness in him, as Abu Hatim said, and Ibn Adi said, "Some of what he narrates is objectionable and not corroborated." He is among those whose hadith is recorded despite being weak narrators.I say, someone like him, when he contradicts others, is not accepted, and the hadith is the hadith of Abu Hurairah.
