I asked Ayesha about silk, and she said, "Go to Ibn Abbas and ask him."So I asked him, and he said, "Ask Ibn Umar."So I asked Ibn Umar, and he said, "Abu Hafs, meaning Umar bin Khattab, informed me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Only those who have no share in the Hereafter wear silk in this world.'"I said, "He has spoken the truth. Abu Hafs would never lie about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."
سألت عائشة عن الحرير فقالت: انت ابن عباس فسله، قال: فسألته فقال: سل ابن عمر، قال: فسألت ابن عمر، فقال: أخبرني أبو حفص- يعني عمر بن الخطاب- أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إنما يلبس الحرير في الدنيا من لا خلاق له في الآخرة فقلت: صدق، وما كذب أبو حفص على رسول الله ﷺ.
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Clothing (5835), from Muhammad bin Bashshar, who said, Uthman bin Umar told us, Ali bin Mubarak told us, from Yahya bin Abu Kathir, from Imran bin Hittan, and he mentioned it.His saying "khalaq" means a share.
