The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Change grey hair, but do not use black to do so."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: غيروا الشيب ولا تقربوه السواد.
Ahmad (13588) narrated it from Qutayba, who said, Ibn Lahia informed us, from Khalid bin Abu Imran, from Saad bin Ishaq bin Kaab bin Ujra, from Anas bin Malik, and he related it.Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Lahia, for he became confused in his later years, except that Qutayba's narration from him, that is Ibn Saeed, was before his confusion set in. This hadith may be an abridgment of the story of Abu Quhafa mentioned earlier.
