Zirr reported that he entered upon the Prophet ﷺ while wearing a stiff lower garment that made a rustling sound. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Who is this?"I replied, "Abdullah bin Umar."He said, "If you are truly Abdullah, then raise your lower garment."So I raised my garment to the middle of my shins, and that remained the way he wore his garment until he died.
دخلت على النبي ﷺ وعلي إزار يتقعقع فقال: من هذا؟ قلت: عبد الله بن عمر قال: إن كنت عبد الله فارفع إزارك، فرفعت إزاري إلى نصف الساقين. فلم تزل إزرته حتى مات.
Ahmad narrated it (6263) from Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman Tufawi, who said, Ayub told us, from Zayd bin Aslam, from Ibn Umar, who said, and then he mentioned it. Its isnad is hasan because of Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman Tufawi, for he is hasan al-hadith.Abdullah bin Muslim, the brother of Zuhri, said, "I saw Ibn Umar with his waist-wrap reaching to the middle of his shins, the shirt over the waist-wrap, and the cloak over the shirt." Abdul-Razzaq narrated it in Musannaf (11/84) from Mamar, from Abdullah bin Muslim, and Abu Mutawakkil said likewise, as Musaddad narrated it in Matalib Aliyah (2248).
