I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while my lower garment was hanging loosely. He said, "Abdullah, raise your garment."So I raised it.Then he said, "Raise it more."So I raised it further, and I have been mindful of that ever since.Some of the people asked, "Up to where?"He replied, "To the middle of the shins."
مررت على رسول الله ﷺ وفي إزاري استرخاء، فقال: يا عبد الله، ارفع إزارك، فرفعته، ثم قال: زد، فزدت، فما زلت اتحراها بعد، فقال بعض القوم: إلى أين؟ فقال: أنصاف الساقين.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Clothing (2086) from Abu Tahir, who said, Ibn Wahb narrated to us, Amr bin Muhammad told me, from Abdullah bin Waqid, from Ibn Umar, and he related it.
