The Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed some cloaks but did not give Makhramah anything. Makhramah said, "My son, come with me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ."So I went with him, and he said, "Go in and call him out for me."I called him, and he came out wearing one of those cloaks. He said, "I set this aside for you."Makhramah looked at it and said, "Makhramah is pleased."
قسم رسول الله ﷺ أقبية ولم يعط مخرمة شيئا، فقال مخرمة: يا بني انطلق بنا إلى رسول الله ﷺ، فانطلقت معه، فقال: ادخل فادعه لي، قال: فدعوته له، فخرج إليه وعليه قباء منها، فقال: خبأت هذا لك قال: فنظر إليه، فقال: رضي مخرمة.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Dress (5800), and Muslim in the Book of Zakat (1058:129), from Qutayba bin Saeed, who reported to us from Layth, from Ibn Abu Mulayka, from Miswar bin Makhrama, who mentioned it.
